Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly rap tracks that tackled racial identity and sexuality with comical wit before expanding her repertoire to Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants from Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came through the trumpet. Additionally, she was given the classical and jazz education later becoming a hip-hop teenager. In college she focused in her studies, pursuing a degree in women's journalism and the arts. While spending a few days that was spent in Beijing and she also took classes in Mandarin. After graduation, she began to devote her time to music. Her hit song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It would later be included in the album debut Yellow Ranger released in 2014. The album featured other hit songs that went viral, such as the body positive Queef as well as the wink-inducing hometown tour NYC Bitche$1. This track was directly linked to another project, Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Following her success as a musician and an author She decided to take on the role of actor. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors to Storks. She had a breakthrough role in 2018 with a few high profile films, including Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she published the EP in Fina We Trust.
